Kesha is feeling “so proud” of her mother, Pebe Sebert, who has finally shared her debut album with the world.
On Thursday, singer-songwriter Pebe revealed that her self-titled project will arrive on 12 December.
The album, which includes the singles Vampire and City’s Burning, highlights Pebe’s original recordings from the 1980s.
After the announcement, Kesha went on X to celebrate her mother for making the move.
“I grew up in the studio, watching my mom turn her life into songs,” she wrote. “These moments became stories. These stories are her life. She wrote an album before I was born. This was the only album she made as an independent artist before focusing her life on raising her children and writing songs for other people.”
The Joyride hitmaker added that it feels especially meaningful that the project is being released through her own independent label, Kesha Records.
“I grew up watching this alchemy, and I only became who I am because of the road she paved before me. I am so proud to finally release my mom’s debut album on KESHA RECORDS, and I am so proud of her release today!” the thirty-eight-year-old shared.
Pebe is a respected songwriter who has written tracks for her daughter along with artists such as Pitbull, Miley Cyrus, and Dolly Parton.
In a post on Instagram, the sixty-nine-year-old shared her excitement about the positive reaction from fans.
“I want to thank everybody for all of the support and excitement about the City’s Burning. I cannot wait to hear what you think,” she said.
Kesha released her sixth studio album, Period, in July.
