Travis Kelce’s father has opened up with fresh details about his son’s engagement to Taylor Swift.
The proud dad shared how early he learned about the proposal and could not help but praise his son’s future wife.
“It’s good,” Ed Kelce said during an appearance on Australian morning program Today. “She’s a wonderful young lady, she’s perfect for him, and they just complement each other so well.”
According to Ed, the proposal took place in a rose-filled garden a few weeks ago.
“It was a couple of weeks ago that Travis, ah, that Travis got it done,” explained the 74-year-old. “After a few weeks of prodding from myself and (Taylor’s father) Scott Swift.”
He went on to share that Travis, 35, spent considerable time considering how to ask the question most memorably.
“He was going to do it but wanted to find the perfect way to ask her to make it special,” Ed revealed. “And we kept trying to tell him, ‘When you do it, that’s what makes it special. So please don’t fret about where; get it done!
For Ed, the proposal came as no shock, since both families had long viewed the relationship as serious and steady.
“Travis’ mother and Taylor’s parents, we’ve all expected this for a little while now,” he said.
“They’re just so good together, they really are, and they’re just both so happy… I don’t know that I’ve ever seen Travis happier, let me put it that way.”
