Rita Ora says her new single All Natural is about embracing self-love.
The 34-year-old singer chose a more stripped-back sound for the track, produced by Grammy-winning musician and producer Joel Little, 42, and she described it as one of the most personal songs in her catalogue.
Rita, whose latest record has just been released, told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, “All Natural is one of the most personal songs I’ve ever made.
“For me, it’s about learning to love every side of yourself – the strong and the fragile, the light and the shadows.
“This song is really about growth, healing, and self-discovery. I hope that when people hear it, they connect with their own journey and feel seen in it.”
Talking about working with Joel on the project, she added in the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column, “Working with Joel was such a gift.
“He has this rare ability to take something deeply intimate and turn it into music that everyone can feel as their own.”
The music video for All Natural was directed by her husband, Taika Waititi, 50, and shows Rita wearing a white vest with matching underwear, wool leg warmers, and red heels.
Rita is also releasing a short series on Instagram over the next few weeks, where she will look back on her childhood in West London and reflect on her rise to international stardom.
Although she has branched into acting with roles in projects such as Disney’s Descendants: The Rise of Red and Tin Soldier, Rita said recently that music is what keeps her “alive” and remains one of the most essential parts of her life.
In June, she told BANG Showbiz exclusively at Capital’s Summertime Ball with Barclaycard at Wembley Stadium in London, “Music is what keeps me alive, to be honest. I wake up listening to music; it runs in my blood. I think we all secretly need music in so many different ways.”
The Heat singer added, “I love working and being creative, and it keeps my blood flowing.
“If I get excited, I love it – fashion, movies, music. I need to have that excitement.”
