One of the standout moments from Mau P’s huge Coachella 2025 set was when he dropped an unreleased track called “Tesla,” which quickly went viral online with clips flooding TikTok and Instagram.
The song has that same smooth, danceable vibe that Mau P has been gaining recognition for. The lyrics, “I just popped a Tesla, ain’t no need to charge,” playfully nod to the different ways energy flows on the dance floor. Even though the track was a hit with fans, Mau P says it wasn’t an easy road to success.
“No one believed in this song until I played it at Coachella and it went viral,” Mau P told Billboard. “Always trust your gut and stand on business.”
In this case, standing on business means “Tesla” is officially set to drop on Friday, August 8, through Insomniac Records. Before the release, Billboard is giving an exclusive first listen to the track, paired with footage from Mau P’s Coachella shows in the iconic Sahara tent, which drew tens of thousands of fans across the festival’s two weekends. This release caps off a big week for Mau P, who kicked off his Baddest Behaviour residency at Pacha Ibiza on Wednesday, August 6. The night featured him alongside Mita Gami and Discip. The residency continues every Wednesday night through October 8, with an impressive lineup that includes Seth Troxler, LP Giobbi, Hot Since 82, Haai, WhoMadeWho, Jan Blomqvist, and many others.
On top of that, Mau P’s tour schedule is packed with festival appearances at Creamfields, Portola, and iii Points, plus headlining shows at venues like L.A. State Historic Park and Red Rocks Amphitheater, among others.
