Many fans probably did not expect 50 Cent to get pulled into the YNW Melly case that loosely involves Fredo Bang, but that is exactly what happened. On Instagram, the G-Unit mogul reacted to newly surfaced deposition clips featuring Fredo, which Mickey Truth shared on social media.
For anyone who missed the context, the rapper was questioned about his felony history in the deposition, stated that he had not received any criminal charges connected to the Melly case, and made it clear that he was not a witness in any form. So what was the deposition actually for? Numerous online reports claim he is facing a $250K lawsuit tied to the Melly situation, because prosecutors accused him of picking the YNW rapper up after Melly allegedly killed YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser.
Even so, take that with caution, because no verified reports of Bang specifically being sued have appeared at the time of writing. The more likely scenario is that the deposition is connected to YNW Juvy’s family’s civil wrongful death lawsuit against YNW Melly.
Despite the uncertainty, 50 reacted to the circulating footage, joking about Fredo Bang’s refusal to be a witness in the criminal case. “He said I’m a witness, what the fvck Yall talking about! LOL oh s**t ! Hahaha,” he wrote.
For anyone unaware of the connection between 50 Cent and Fredo Bang, the Baton Rouge artist performed at 50’s Humor & Harmony Weekend festival in Shreveport, Louisiana. Fredo defended 50 when Hurricane Chris criticized him for not showing enough support to local artists. “Hurricane, if he did not put no Louisiana artists, Louisiana legends, who the f**k I am then?” he responded. Chris later explained that he meant “Shreveport, not [the] whole state.”
In other news, 50 Cent recently walked out Chris Eubank Jr. for his boxing match against Conor Benn on Saturday, November 15. Unfortunately for their team, the gesture did not translate into success, as Benn ultimately won the fight.
As for YNW Melly, the public is still waiting for his double murder retrial. Time will tell whether these civil matters have any influence on the outcome of that case. For now, Fredo Bang’s position in all of this remains somewhat unclear.
