Brandon Flowers has opened up about his initial reaction to the Oasis reunion tour, admitting that he "railed against" the idea.
In a recent BBC interview, The Killers frontman reflected on how he felt when he found out that Liam and Noel Gallagher had put their differences aside and planned to hit the road together last year.
Flowers grew up heavily influenced by the British band and said he was frustrated by the sudden wave of new Oasis fans, particularly in the US, worrying that younger listeners might not understand what the group had meant to him.
"You know what? I was kicking against the Oasis reunion - not because I'm not happy they got back together, but because everyone was just an Oasis fan all of a sudden, even in America, and I sort of railed against it," he said.
His perspective eventually shifted after one of his own children discovered the band's music and became a fan.
"But now I have a son who is 15 who has fallen in love with Oasis. He's learned (their songs) on guitar, and I'll play the piano, rehashing these songs that I loved when I was 19," he shared.
Flowers discussed the Oasis comeback while also revealing that attending concerts is no longer something he particularly enjoys.
The 45-year-old musician once loved seeing other artists perform before becoming a successful member of The Killers, but said live shows now feel different because performing has become part of his professional life.
He did admit, however, that seeing the band that inspired him to purchase his first guitar could bring back some of that excitement.
"I think I would probably feel it again if I went to see Oasis," he said.
Flowers' third solo studio album, Thrasher, arrived on Friday.
