Artist Spotlight: Elle Mona’e
Elle Mona’e is an artist you may know without realizing it. She was featured as a Bombshell on season 2 of the Netflix series, Too Hot to Handle, and became a favorite amongst viewers. Now, she’s expanded to the music world to give her supporters a different side of herself with something she’s very passionate about.
We sat down with Elle Mona'e to talk about their creative journey, inspirations, and what’s next.
Eye On Pop: Where do you find inspiration for your lyrics and melodies?
Elle Mona’e: I find inspiration from my imagination and whatever vibe I’m getting from the beat.
Eye On Pop: How do you decide on the theme or concept for an album?
Elle Mona’e: I pick the themes for whatever I’m working on based on metaphysical and higher consciousness teachings I follow. I like for whatever I’m working on to have meaning and be thought-provoking.
Eye On Pop: Have you ever had a dream to inspire a song or an album?
Elle Mona’e: Yes, all the time, it’s common for creative people to have extremely vivid dreams. It’s a specific part of the brain that is stimulated in creative people.
Eye On Pop: How do you blend different musical influences in your work?
Elle Mona’e: I enjoy a variety of music and want to work on something that will combine classical, choir, string instruments, pop, and R&B. I think it’d be interesting and fun to mix.
Eye On Pop: What’s your favorite part of the recording process?
Elle Mona’e: Definitely singing the song and finding the beats.
Eye On Pop: How do you achieve the perfect mix for your tracks?
Elle Mona’e: I just go by what feels right.
Eye On Pop: What message or themes do you hope to convey through your music?
Elle Mona’e: I hope to ethereal vibes, otherworldly higher energies.
Eye On Pop: What’s your favorite music video that you’ve made and why?
Elle Mona’e: I have yet to make a music video, but I plan to very soon! My plans kept not working out, but plan too very soon.
Eye On Pop: Are there any upcoming projects or releases you’re excited about?
Elle Mona’e: Yes! My next single comes out January 30th, it’s an R&B vibe, much different from my pop song. Very excited to release for people to hear!
Eye On Pop: What message or theme do you hope listeners take away from your latest work?
Elle Mona’e: I hope they take away an empowering feeling to have for themselves. An uplifting feeling/ experience.
