Eye on Pop: What has been the most rewarding part of your journey as an artist so far?
Wreckless_: I would have to say the attention from the right people. Everything I've been doing to get attention is working and the promotion I'm doing now is working as before in the beginning it feels like nothing is working. I now have industry contacts from important people and I know people now. I have a lot going for me behind the scenes now.
Eye on Pop: How do you handle the pressure of expectations from fans and the music industry?
Wreckless_: It's truly hard trying to please everyone so I just go with the flow now. I'm starting to grow and slowly get bigger I have more opportunities now so you can expect to see and hear more of me soon.
Eye on Pop: What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone starting their music career today?
Wreckless_: I would tell them not to give up and to invest in yourself. One thing I've learned is no one is going to take you seriously if you're not investing money into your career. I went and got a job and made up my mind this is something I want to do and I'm gonna fund it. That is how I've gotten so many opportunities I have now and that's what record labels look for "dedication".
Eye on Pop: How do you stay true to your artistic vision while navigating the business side of the industry?
Wreckless_: I get it inspired by new and upcoming artists and that helps me work towards the goals I have. Because everyone is so creative in their own way so many ideas come from inspiration.
Eye on Pop: Is there a particular collaboration or artist you’ve always dreamed of working with?
Wreckless_: I dream of working with a few artists, one would be Blackbear because I really vibe with his digital drug lord album. I also look at Tori Kelly and her song "Cut". I'm also a fan of Salem Ilese. I listen to all music tbh but a particular one I would have to say HonestAV.
Eye on Pop: How do you approach experimenting with different sounds or genres in your music?
Wreckless_: I just dive right into it and start flowing till I figure out how I wanna sound. I'm currently experimenting with pop, emo rap, punk rock rap, country rap, and R&B soul. But I'm a hip-hop artist at heart. Rap and trap are what I specialize in.
Eye on Pop: What piece of music equipment or software could you not live without when making your music?
Wreckless_: Emaster.com for just 40$ a month you can be professional and have HD wave that is a high-quality sound. It's so great I wish I had it before but I just recently found it in an ad. I highly recommend it to new artists mixing and mastering on your own your sound will be so much better I know mine is.
Eye on Pop: Have there been any major challenges in your career that have shaped who you are as an artist today?
Wreckless_: Yes. I used to think I would get rich and blow up over night. But now I realize it's a process and it requires work to be put in and that's what I'm doing and I love doing it. I'm really thankful for all the opportunities I have.
Eye on Pop: How do you find balance between your personal life and the demands of your music career?
Wreckless_: I'm currently getting ready to move to a house. I've been in college at the dorms this semester and I just ain't feeling it anymore. I have too many opportunities not to take a chance but I'll be able to start on the new Mixtape soon. I also have some exciting news privately but it's a big thing is all I can say. I now have my friends and family's full support and that feels great. Just keep following your dreams and never give up.
Eye on Pop: What do you hope listeners take away from your music, both in terms of the lyrics and the overall sound?
Wreckless_: I hope they take inspiration and joy but most of all just that they can relate to life and how it is. I hope they vibe with it and give it a chance. And I also hope I'm Kool at least. I always strive to be Kool from my experience everyone likes the Kool Kats.
