Netflix has shared its list of the 10 most viewed films of 2026 so far, with Kpop Demon Hunters remaining among the leaders almost a full year after its debut.
The animated movie has broken several records since arriving last year and has become the most watched film in Netflix history. Its story follows the K Pop girl group HUNTR/X, whose members perform as musicians during the day and fight demons after dark.
The movie’s original song ‘Golden’ has already collected two Oscars, one Grammy, and two Golden Globes, while also reaching Number One in over 30 countries. Its continued success throughout 2026 encouraged Netflix to return the film to cinemas and reveal plans for a worldwide live tour.
Netflix has now unveiled the 10 films with the highest streaming figures on the service during the first seven months of 2026. Kpop Demon Hunters secured a place in the Top Five after attracting 130 million views during that period.
That remarkable total places it above the Jennifer Lopez romantic comedy Office Romance, the Peaky Blinders spin off The Immortal Man, which arrived four years after the six season show concluded, and The Crash, a film centred on the inquiry into a deadly 2022 road accident in Ohio.
The Top 10 also featured Apex, a horror movie starring Charlize Theron and Taron Egerton that helped one of The Chemical Brothers’ songs go viral. Romantic comedy People We Meet On Vacation and survival thriller Thrash also earned places on the list.
Only three films received more views than Kpop Demon Hunters in 2026. Animated comedy Swapped, featuring voice work from Michael B. Jordan, recorded 130.8 million views, while Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s crime drama The Rip reached 136.1 million. Military thriller War Machine also finished ahead of it.
War Machine claimed first place with 146.9 million views. The film features Alan Ritchson, Dennis Quaid, Stephan James and Jai Courtney, and its strong performance has already prompted Netflix to confirm a follow up.
It was also revealed earlier this year that KPop Demon Hunters would receive a physical release through the respected Criterion Collection. Set to become available on December 31, the movie will join other animated titles issued on Blu Ray by the company, including Flow, Wall*E, and Wes Anderson’s The Fantastic Mr Fox.
