Harry Styles may not have a royal title, but Prince Harry believes the singer is the most famous Harry in the United Kingdom.
During an appearance on James Corden’s After Hours on Fox on Sunday, July 19, King Charles’ youngest son joined the ongoing discussion about which well known British man named Harry is the easiest to recognize. Prince Harry initially hesitated to respond, joking, “There’s a conflict of interest here.” However, after Corden and cohost Rio Ferdinand urged him to be “bold,” he finally shared his ranking.
“Be bold?” the Spare author replied. “Harry Styles [first], Harry Kane [second].”
Following a lengthy pause, Prince Harry admitted that he would place himself third, tied with J.K. Rowling’s popular Harry Potter character. When asked how they might break the tie, the prince joked, “We’ll have a Quidditch off.”
Styles certainly has a strong argument for being Britain’s best known Harry. He has earned four No. 1 singles and three No. 1 albums on the UK charts, while his 2022 hit “As It Was” remained at the top of the Billboard Global 200 for 15 weeks. The three time Grammy winner also made history in London earlier in July by completing a record breaking 12 night run at Wembley Stadium.
However, online search figures present a different picture. Kane, one of England’s leading national soccer players, and Potter both rank above Prince Harry and Styles in search popularity. Over the past month, as Kane helped England secure third place at the World Cup, his name attracted significantly more UK searches on Google Trends. Data covering the previous year also shows the fictional wizard comfortably leading the entire group.
