Dominic Fike has taken on Primus’ theme song for South Park during an appearance on Australian radio station Triple J, with the performance now available to watch below.
The Florida based singer songwriter was the latest guest to feature on the station’s long running ‘Like A Version’ series, which invites artists to perform live covers of songs by other musicians.
Fike appeared on Friday January 9 and delivered the shortest ‘Like A Version’ performance to date, with his take on the instantly recognisable theme lasting just 26 seconds. He explained that he has long been drawn to what he described as the show’s sense of adventure.
“It feels optimistic when the episode starts,” he said. “And it’s funny throughout, which is how I prefer life, and then it ends abruptly and Primus starts.”
The session also saw Fike perform Cody ChesnuTT’s 2002 track ‘Boylife In America’, which he said “sounds like a song I would’ve wrote”, alongside his own song ‘Epilogue’ from his 2025 mixtape ‘Rocket’.

Primus originally created the South Park theme in 1997 and later returned to the spotlight as part of the show’s 25th anniversary concerts in 2022 at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The series’ co creator also joined the band on drums during that run, as well as at a Los Angeles show last August for a King Crimson cover.
Fike has previously shown his appreciation for alternative music through a number of covers, including when he joined Weezer onstage in 2024 for a rendition of their hit ‘Say It Ain’t So’ at an anniversary concert.
His most recent studio album was 2023’s ‘Sunburn’, which received three stars from NME. The review noted: “But it’s not just the chaotic liberation of the Sunshine State the 14 tracks revel in, it’s the heartbreak, addiction and disarray that trailed behind his time there. ‘Sunburn’ still acts as a love letter to the place he was raised in, however, allowing Fike to return home not only to the relentless humid state but to himself.”
Fike has also expanded into acting, appearing in the second season of Euphoria as Elliot, a troubled teenager who befriends Zendaya’s character Rue. The show’s third season is scheduled to premiere in April.
