The woman who was mauled by Chris Brown’s dog is pursuing further legal action to collect the compensation awarded to her.
Maria Avila, who previously worked as the R&B singer’s housekeeper, is entitled to almost $13 million (£9.8 million) following the violent incident at his property.
According to TMZ, she is now attempting to secure a portion of the income Brown is earning from his ongoing tour with Usher.
Legal papers obtained by the publication state that Brown has "made no effort to satisfy any portion of the judgment". Avila is asking the court to grant access to his complete financial records so she can recover the amount she is owed.
Her attorneys noted that Brown is currently performing alongside Usher on The R&B Tour. They want all of his earnings from the shows, along with income from other entertainment projects and residual payments, redirected to Avila because he has reportedly shown no willingness to cooperate in settling the judgment.
The legal team has also requested that Brown be required to attend court and answer questions about his financial situation.
A jury in California previously sided with Avila over the attack, which happened in December 2020. During the two week trial, she became emotional while describing the mauling at Brown’s home in the Tarzana area of Los Angeles.
Avila explained that she suffered serious damage to her face and arm, permanent scarring, and post traumatic stress disorder because of the incident.
Speaking to the jury at the time, she said: "I will never be the same again."
