Megan Thee Stallion is still having to defend herself against constant online attacks. The rapper spent nearly two hours on the stand in a Miami federal courtroom on Thursday, speaking in detail about the years of harassment she says she has endured. Megan Thee Stallion, whose legal name is Megan Pete, has filed a defamation lawsuit against blogger and social media figure Milagro Cooper, widely known as Milagro Gramz.
Pete told the court that Cooper was not simply sharing opinions. She argued that the blogger carried out an intentional effort to tear her down publicly. In her lawsuit, Pete says Cooper pushed false claims about her and tried to turn the public against her. Pete believes this all began after the 2020 incident in which Tory Lanez was convicted of shooting her. She testified that Cooper was working alongside Lanez to undermine her credibility after she identified him as the shooter.
During her testimony, Pete talked honestly about the emotional strain brought on by the nonstop online harassment. She said Cooper’s posts led to large waves of hatred directed at her. Pete believes those posts created an environment where strangers felt bold enough to insult her and question what she lived through. She also felt that people began to blame her for the violence she survived. According to a tweet from reporter Meghann Cuniff, Pete shared how painful it has been to see people online dismiss her instead of acknowledging that she is a victim of a crime.
Pete stated, “Everybody thought that I deserved to get shot because I talk about sex and I twerk and I drink.”
She also testified that Cooper repeatedly portrayed her as dishonest and mentally unstable. She said the blogger pushed a storyline that encouraged people to doubt every part of her experience. Pete described this as targeted harassment that damaged her name and made her feel unsafe.
“She’s created a space for a lot of people to come speak negatively about me,” Pete said about Cooper. She also pointed to social media posts where the blogger attacked her character.
The testimony wrapped up with a short break before cross-examination. Pete appears exhausted by the constant backlash and is seeking accountability for the harm she says was caused. The case is still in progress, but her courtroom appearance makes it clear that she is prepared to stand up for herself both publicly and legally.
