D4vd is facing new attention online after old Discord messages resurfaced in which he allegedly talked about enjoying gore videos. These posts began spreading across social platforms on Monday, shortly after TMZ reported that investigators now consider the singer a potential suspect in the death of Celeste Rivas. Her body was found in the trunk of his Tesla earlier this year while he was on tour. At this time, D4vd has not been charged with any crime.
"I used to be addicted to watching gore vids," he reportedly wrote in one of the messages shared by No Jumper. In the same thread, he claimed that he first encountered this type of content after seeing an execution video at age fourteen. D4vd then attempted to explain the behavior by writing, "I use it to desensitize myself." He continued by adding, "I remember laughing at one point it got bad man." These messages appear to date back to 2023.
Authorities first discovered the dismembered body of Celeste Rivas inside the trunk of D4vd's car in September, only a few days after what would have been her fifteenth birthday. Her mother had previously said that she left home in 2024 after connecting with someone who went by the name “David.”
TMZ also reported that law enforcement sources told the outlet that Rivas’ body appeared to have been frozen before officers found it. Because of this, the L.A. County Medical Examiner has struggled to determine a clear cause of death.
Photos from Zillow show that the rental property where D4vd had been staying included a large KitchenAid freezer. The appliance measures roughly seventy four inches tall, about fourteen inches wide, and approximately twenty seven inches deep.
As of now, there have been no arrests, and officials have not even classified Rivas’ death as a homicide. Harvey Levin shared last week that his law enforcement sources said an arrest is not close. "We pushed and we cannot get an answer that they are close to making an arrest, that they have a suspect. All we are told is it is 'not imminent.' We are two and a half months in here. They must have the toxicology report by now," he said.
