Scott Robinson says Five’s recent reunion tour felt “healing” for him.
The iconic boy band, made up of Abz Love, Jason “J” Brown, Ritchie Neville, Scott Robinson, and Sean Conlon, reunited for their first UK tour as a full five piece lineup in 25 years during 2025. According to Scott, the experience gave him a completely different perspective on performing compared to the band’s earlier years.
Speaking with OfficialCharts.com, the 46 year old singer admitted this was the first tour where he truly felt present and able to enjoy each moment on stage.
“It sounds soppy, but it felt healing in many ways,” Scott shared. “In the past, on tour, I've felt quite lost and in my own head. This time, I was in the moment every night, looking at my brothers here and thinking ‘Oh my God, they're so talented, we're actually really good at what we do!’”
As for what comes next, the group, who are preparing to perform at London’s Mighty Hoopla this weekend, are not making long term plans just yet. Still, Scott hopes the reunion can continue for as long as fans want them around.
Ritchie Neville explained: “We haven't looked past September, to be honest. We'll all sit down then and see how we feel.”
Scott added: “Who knows what the future holds? I'd carry on doing this as long as people want us to do it, and I'm sure all the boys would say the same!”
Five, known for hits including “Everybody Get Up,” “Slam Dunk (Da Funk),” “If Ya Gettin’ Down,” and “Keep On Movin’,” have also been surprised by how many younger fans have connected with their music decades later.
During an interview with BANG Showbiz last year, Scott spoke about seeing longtime supporters return alongside a whole new generation of listeners.
“I love the fact that during this whole tour we've seen our old fans in the front row who we recognise from 25 years ago,” he said.
“There's fans bringing their daughters and their sons and they know the words. There has been five year olds, nine year olds singing Keep On Movin’ back to us. It's incredible.”
The group also revealed that life behind the scenes during the Keep On Movin’ Tour has been far smoother than some people may have expected, with very few disagreements between them.
Scott explained: “To be fair, I can't believe I'm saying this, there's not been any disagreements.”
“We've had moments where we're tired. I might have gone to Ritchie and said, ‘Quiet down a little bit today,’ and he has gone, ‘Yeah, man.’”
“On the whole, we've just enjoyed ourselves and we're very glad to be back ... We've been very professional. We've kept on the level.”
Ritchie added: “We talk things out now.”
