Brian May has said he will not be travelling to the US, describing the country as “dangerous”.
The Queen guitarist explained that he has no plans to tour America anytime soon, saying he currently views the country as unsafe.
“America is a dangerous place at the moment, so you have to take that into account,” Brian, 78, told The Daily Mail.
Although he last toured the US in 2023 while performing with Adam Lambert, 44, Brian said he no longer feels comfortable travelling there while uncertainty remains around how foreign visitors are treated.
“It’s very sad because I feel like Queen grew up in America and we love it, but it’s not what it was,” the band’s co founder said, noting that others share his concerns. “Everyone is thinking twice about going there at the moment.”
The musician, who experienced a “minor stroke” in 2024, also admitted he is unsure when Queen might be ready to return to the road at all.
“I don’t know when Queen will be back on stage it’s an unknown,” he told the publication. “We’ll take it day by day.”
Even so, Brian hinted there could still be reasons for optimism, revealing the band has unreleased material that could eventually lead to a comeback.
“But never say never about not coming back,” he added. “The rebuild of Queen Two is coming back, and there are a couple of things you haven’t heard.”
