Olivia Rodrigo has shared that creating the cover image for her upcoming album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, took around "two hours" to complete.
The artwork for the highly anticipated third studio record shows the Good 4 U star wearing a pink dress as she soars through the air on a swing.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday night, Olivia admitted the eye catching photoshoot was actually a "little bit scary".
"I remember being a little frightened, my hands hurt really bad from holding onto the chain," she recounted. "I was on the swing for like two hours. There's like a pillow under my butt, you can't see it, it was super painful, but yeah, it turned into that (so I'm proud of it)."
Jimmy then questioned Olivia about her decision to choose a much longer album title after previously releasing albums with shorter names such as Sour and Guts.
"I knew it wanted to break out of the four-letter thing and it was just something that my producer Dan (Nigro) said to me," the 23 year old explained. "We were having a conversation and about stuff in my life and he said, 'You seem pretty down for a girl so in love.' And when he said it, we were both like, 'That's it. That's the title we've been searching for... for so long.'"
You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love features the song What's Wrong with Me, a collaboration with The Cure's Robert Smith.
Speaking about her appreciation for the punk icon, Olivia revealed that her father, Chris Rodrigo, is a "diehard superfan" of The Cure and has attended around 30 of the band's concerts.
"He got to talk to Robert (at a recent show), 'cause we're kinda friends now, and the tears started welling up in his eyes. His screensaver on his phone is a picture of him and Robert. It's so sweet," she smiled.
You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love is set to arrive on Friday.
