The team behind Pacha New York has officially shared the opening date along with the lineup for the venue’s highly anticipated debut weekend.
Pacha New York is set to launch across June 20 and 21, with the two-night kickoff bringing in English artist Michael Bibi on June 20 and South African icon Black Coffee on June 21.
For Bibi, this appearance at Pacha stands as his only scheduled performance in the United States aside from Chicago’s ARC Music Festival in September. As for Black Coffee, his set at Pacha marks his sole U.S. stop currently planned for the summer.
This reveal signals a fresh chapter for the space, which until recently operated as the Brooklyn Mirage. Back in February, it was confirmed that Dubai-based FIVE Holdings had entered a long-term deal to take over full operational control of the Brooklyn Mirage and The Great Hall complex, both part of the larger Avant Gardner where the Mirage had been located.
That February update also confirmed the transformation of Brooklyn Mirage into the only United States outpost of Pacha Ibiza, the globally recognized club brand known for its flagship in Ibiza. The shift comes after a turbulent period for Brooklyn Mirage, which had been scheduled to reopen last May following a major renovation, only to cancel its opening the night before doors were set to open. Every event that followed was scrapped as the venue dealt with permit complications and ultimately filed for bankruptcy.
The Pacha team addressed the situation in an April 7 email sent to roughly 30,000 guests who still held unrefunded tickets and season passes from canceled Brooklyn Mirage events. The message offered those customers the equivalent value of their original purchases in the form of credit for use at Pacha. According to a source familiar with the matter, the total value of these credits comes to $3,107,654, and they can be used toward food, drinks and merchandise at any Pacha New York show.
“Before we look ahead, we want to speak directly to you, the community that has always been at the heartbeat of New York’s dance culture” the email reads. “We know the last chapter left many of you frustrated. Especially those who held tickets for shows at the Brooklyn Mirage that never happened and were never refunded. While Pacha New York was not involved in these circumstances, we’ve made a conscious decision on making this right for you… We’re offering 100% of your original ticket value as a coupon at Pacha New York.”
