Justin Bieber’s Coachella 2026 performance is already getting attention from fellow artists across the music world.
The 32 year old pop star took over the main stage in Indio, California on Saturday night April 11 with a set packed with hits, bringing fans on a nostalgic journey while also revisiting some of his earliest YouTube uploads.
“Thank God he has Premium. I don’t wanna see no ads,” Katy Perry joked in an Instagram video she shared while watching Bieber’s performance from within the crowd.
Perry, who showed up wearing a shirt printed with the phrase “Pls don’t give me a rip off your vape no matter what I say,” spent weekend one of Coachella alongside her boyfriend, former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The “Teenage Dream” singer was not the only artist reacting to Bieber’s YouTube driven portion of the show. Zara Larsson also posted a TikTok that appeared to be filmed on her tour bus, capturing her watching a livestream of Bieber’s set as he pulled up old clips on his laptop for fans.
“It’s giving lets smoke and watch YouTube,” Larsson wrote in the video, where her friends are seen watching Bieber revisit his viral “double rainbow all the way” clip.
“He’s in my dream blunt rotation,” the Swedish pop star captioned the post.
During his headlining performance, Bieber spent around 25 minutes diving into internet nostalgia, bringing up once viral moments like “Deez Nuts” and “Double Rainbow.” He also revisited several of his early hits, singing along to parts of “Baby,” “That Should Be Me” and “Never Say Never,” while their music videos played on the screen behind him. He then went back to the very beginning, showing the clip that first introduced him to the world, his 2008 cover of “With You.”
Bieber is set to return for the second weekend of Coachella on April 18. You can read Billboard’s full review of his opening weekend headlining performance here.
