Drake is gearing up to drop new music in less than a month.
On Monday, the Toronto native challenged fans to locate a blue folder placed inside a massive display made of ice cubes set up in the city.
A dedicated fan and streamer known as Kishka managed to find it first, uncovering that Iceman is scheduled for release on 15 May.
The following day, Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Graham, made it official by sharing a graphic on Instagram that read “ICEMAN” and “MAY 15” in bold red and blue lettering, alongside an ice cube emoji.
Iceman will be the 39 year old artist’s ninth studio album.
The upcoming record follows his 2025 project Some Sexy Songs 4 U, a joint release with PartyNextDoor that included tracks like Nokia and Somebody Loves Me.
In the lead up, Drake had already hinted at the title Iceman by posting a photo of Val Kilmer online.
Kilmer, who passed away at 65 in April 2025, was widely known for portraying Tom “Iceman” Kazansky in the 1986 film Top Gun.
At the same time, Drake remains involved in an ongoing legal battle with Universal Music Group UMG.
Last year, the Hotline Bling artist filed a lawsuit against the label he shares with Kendrick Lamar over the diss track Not Like Us, where Kendrick refers to Drake as a “certified paedophile”.
Although UMG’s legal team succeeded in getting the case dismissed in October, Drake moved forward with an appeal the next month.
In the latest court documents, his lawyers have requested that the case be reconsidered and that the defamation claims be reviewed in a full trial.
